These songs were written during heaves of acceptance and grief in 2022 and 2023. The melody for A Plane Beyond came to me in a dream and the words followed seamlessly when awake.

My Eyelids Opened, My Little Salt Oceans, Venom and Gems, and Who’s to Say had similar ways of forming - lucid downloads of poetry and melody.

Birth and Death is a chant that was received in 2015, at Emily Dickinson’s grave, in Amherst, MA. I sung it a cappella until the end of 2023, knowing I’d like to include it in this album, I added guitar.

Angels and Unicorns and Om Purnamadah are also chants, a song form that repeats, in a way to calm the nervous system, ground and direct energy. I received the melodies for these songs after dark, in times of great need of protection and peace.

Om Purnamadah is an ancient Sanskrit chant with many beautiful translations, here is the translation I liked best and which attracted the melody:
That is complete.
This is complete.
From one complete entity another complete entity is born.
And when a complete entity is taken away from a complete entity what remains is also complete.

The recording of the Healing Song Album at Underground Sound was a dream come true and gift from my brother Chris. I am deeply grateful for his help and encouragement in the creation of this album and much of my character. I love you.
